Emily was preparing to marry Daniel, a hardworking man who loved her more than anything. Their wedding was only three weeks away when she received a letter from a hospital.
The letter revealed that she had a young son from a relationship she had kept secret. She had given birth years earlier while living in another city and had believed the child would have a safer life with another family.
Now the boy needed her help.
Emily was terrified. She feared Daniel would reject her and that their future would disappear overnight.
For several days, she tried to find the courage to tell him.

Daniel read the letter in silence.
Emily began crying. “You can leave me. I will understand.”

At the hospital, they met a frightened child with Emily’s eyes. Daniel knelt beside him and introduced himself gently.

The boy smiled.
