A small train traveled across Sweden every winter.
Its passengers came from different countries.
They all wanted to see the northern lights.
One evening, the train stopped in the middle of a snowy forest.
The lights appeared above the trees.
Green.
Purple.
Silver.
Everyone left the train.
Nobody spoke.
For several minutes, hundreds of strangers simply looked upward together.
A child whispered:
“Are the stars moving?”
His father smiled.
“No. The sky is dancing.”
The train eventually continued.
Years later, one passenger wrote about that night.
She said she had forgotten almost everything else about the journey.
She didn’t remember the hotel.
She didn’t remember the meals.
She didn’t remember the train ticket.
But she remembered strangers standing together beneath a moving sky.
Sometimes the moments we remember most are the ones we never planned.
