In a quiet African village stood a giant baobab tree.
People believed it was more than a thousand years old.
Children played beneath it.
Families rested in its shade.
Travelers stopped there for water.
One day, a businessman offered money to cut it down.
The villagers refused.
A young boy asked why.
The village elder answered:
“Because this tree remembers us.”
The boy looked at the enormous trunk.
“How can a tree remember?”
The elder smiled.
“Every generation has sat beneath it.”
Years later, the boy became the village leader.
He protected the tree and planted hundreds of new ones.
The ancient baobab remained.
And beneath its branches, another generation of children played.
