The Apartment Above Room 9

A college student rents a cheap apartment in a crumbling building where tenants mysteriously avoid discussing the top floor. Every night at exactly 2:09 AM, footsteps echo above her ceiling despite the floor officially being abandoned. Her curiosity leads her to investigate hidden stairways and forgotten apartments sealed decades earlier after a series of murders. Strange symbols appear on the walls, and residents begin acting strangely whenever darkness falls. The protagonist slowly realizes the building itself may be alive, feeding on fear and trapping souls within its walls.
