The Midnight Library

A burned-out writer wandering the city after midnight discovers a hidden library that only appears during storms. Inside, endless shelves contain books detailing the complete lives of every human being. A mysterious librarian explains that one particular book contains the writer’s future, including the exact night of death. Tempted by curiosity, the writer searches for the forbidden book while strange visitors roam the library: silent children, faceless readers, and shadowy figures hunting lost memories. Every book opened alters reality outside the library. The writer soon realizes someone is rewriting lives to create tragedies in the real world. As time collapses around the building, the protagonist must decide whether to change personal fate or stop the destruction spreading through the city. Include magical realism, cosmic horror, philosophical themes, emotional introspection, suspenseful discoveries, and surreal dreamlike imagery.
