The Whispering Forest

The Whispering Forest

A group of university students travel to a remote forest to film a documentary about a local legend. Villagers warn them that after sunset, the forest whispers secrets stolen from the dead. At first, the students dismiss the stories as superstition. But once darkness falls, they begin hearing familiar voices calling their names from deep among the trees. One hears his deceased mother. Another hears childhood memories no one else should know. The deeper they travel, the more the forest manipulates their fears and regrets. Strange symbols appear carved into trees overnight. Shadows move without bodies. Footprints circle their camp despite nobody leaving their tents. As paranoia grows, the students turn against one another, unsure who can still be trusted. They eventually discover an abandoned settlement hidden deep in the woods where every resident vanished decades ago. Beneath the village lies an ancient entity that feeds on guilt and memory. The story should blend survival horror, psychological tension, folklore, and emotional trauma while slowly revealing the terrifying intelligence controlling the forest.
