The Security Guard
A mall security guard worked overnight shifts alone.
One night, he noticed a little girl on the security cameras wandering through the closed food court.
He searched the mall but found nobody.
Then the cameras showed her standing directly behind him.
He spun around.
Empty hallway.
Over the radio came a child’s voice:
“You missed me.”
The lights shut off floor by floor until only his hallway remained illuminated.
Then the camera feed cut out permanently.
