When Evelyn met Samuel, he was working as a gardener outside her family’s estate. She was a wealthy young woman preparing to take over her father’s company, while Samuel lived with his widowed mother in a small village.
Their love began with simple conversations. Samuel taught Evelyn how to plant flowers, and she taught him how to use a computer to manage his small gardening jobs.
But Evelyn’s parents had already chosen a wealthy husband for her.
When she announced that she wanted to marry Samuel, her father gave her an ultimatum: leave Samuel or lose her inheritance.
Evelyn chose Samuel.
They married in a small ceremony attended by friends and neighbors. Their first home was modest, and they worked hard to build a stable life together.
Samuel expanded his gardening work into a landscaping business. Evelyn used her education to help organize contracts and finances. They made mistakes, faced debt, and sometimes worried about the future, but they never stopped supporting each other.
Ten years later, their company was thriving. They employed dozens of workers and helped create public gardens in poor communities.
One day, Evelyn’s father visited their office. He had watched their success from a distance and finally understood that Samuel had never wanted his fortune.
“I thought I was protecting you,” he said. “I was actually preventing you from choosing your own happiness.”
Evelyn embraced him, crying. Samuel welcomed him warmly, and the family slowly healed.
That evening, Evelyn and Samuel returned to the garden where they had first fallen in love.
Samuel handed her a flower.
“Would you choose me again?” he asked.
Evelyn smiled, tears shining in her eyes.
“Even if we had to start with nothing all over again.”
