Lucas was saving money to study engineering when his girlfriend Anna’s younger brother suffered a serious accident.
The family needed money urgently for treatment.
Anna tried borrowing from relatives, but everyone refused.
Lucas faced a terrible decision. He could protect his savings and continue pursuing his education, or he could help the family he hoped to join one day.
After a sleepless night, he paid the hospital deposit.
Anna cried when she discovered what he had done.
“You have given up your dream for us.”
Lucas shook his head. “I haven’t given it up forever. I am choosing what matters today.”
He began working longer hours at a construction site. The physical labor exhausted him, and his studies were delayed for years.
Anna never forgot his sacrifice. She completed her own training and found a stable job, then helped Lucas return to school part-time.
Their progress was slow, but they refused to let one difficult chapter define their future.
Eventually, Lucas earned his engineering qualification and secured a position with a construction company.
On their wedding day, Anna gave him a framed photograph of his first school application.
“You kept this?” he asked.
She smiled. “I wanted you to remember that your dream never disappeared. It was simply waiting for us to find another way.”
Lucas embraced her.
He had once believed love meant sacrificing everything without hesitation.
Now he understood that lasting love meant making difficult choices together and helping each other recover what had been postponed.
