Emily and Ryan were both poor.
They lived in a small rented room and worked different jobs to survive.
Emily’s parents disliked Ryan because they believed he could never give their daughter a comfortable life.
They pressured Emily to leave him.
But Ryan never complained.
“I don’t need your family’s approval to love you,” he said. “But I hope one day they will understand.”
They decided to start a small food business.
Every morning, they woke before sunrise and prepared food to sell at the market.
Some days they sold almost nothing.
Other days they earned enough to pay their bills.
They never gave up.
After five years, their small food stall became a restaurant.
After ten years, they owned three restaurants.
Emily’s parents visited one evening.
Her father looked around the busy restaurant.
“I remember when I told you Ryan could never give you a good life.”
Emily smiled.
“He didn’t give me a good life. We built one together.”
Ryan looked at Emily proudly.
They had learned an important lesson.
Being poor was not their greatest challenge.
Their greatest challenge was believing they could succeed together.
They never became rich because they wanted to prove anyone wrong.
They became successful because they believed in each other.
And even after becoming wealthy, they continued eating simple meals together at the same small table where they had once planned their future.
