In a remote village in Mongolia, people believed that shooting stars were messages from distant ancestors.
One night, a young boy named Bat saw the brightest meteor he had ever seen.
He made a wish.
“I want to see the world.”
Years later, Bat became a traveler.
He visited deserts, mountains, forests, islands, and enormous cities.
But everywhere he went, he carried a small piece of earth from his village.
After many years, he returned.
The village looked smaller than he remembered.
But the night sky looked exactly the same.
He sat beside his childhood home.
A shooting star crossed the sky.
His mother asked, “What did you wish for this time?”
Bat smiled.
“Nothing.”
“Why?”
“Because I already traveled around the world.”
He looked at the village.
“And now I know where I wanted to return.”
The stars continued shining above him.
And for the first time, Bat understood that sometimes the greatest journey is the one that eventually brings us home.
