The Fisherman’s Hidden Island

A fisherman named Paulo lived on the coast of Brazil.

One morning, thick fog surrounded his boat.

When the fog cleared, he discovered an island that did not appear on his map.

The island was covered with wild flowers and enormous trees.

At its center stood an abandoned house.

Inside, Paulo found hundreds of seashells arranged carefully along the walls.

Each shell had a name written beneath it.

He recognized some names from old stories told by his grandfather.

They belonged to fishermen who had disappeared at sea.

Paulo realized the island had once been a meeting place for sailors.

Before leaving, he found one empty space on the wall.

There was a small wooden label beside it.

It had his own name.

Paulo was frightened.

He left the island immediately.

When he returned home, he searched old family records.

His grandfather had once mentioned the mysterious island.

But he had never explained what happened there.

Paulo never found it again.

Yet whenever he sailed into thick fog, he remembered the island.

He began carrying an extra lantern on every journey.

Not because he expected to find the island again.

But because he believed every traveler deserves a light to guide them home.
