A mysterious violinist played every night beside a canal in Venice.
Nobody knew his name.
He played only one melody.
Tourists came to listen.
One evening, an old woman approached him.
“That melody,” she said, “was written by my husband.”
The violinist stopped.
She explained that her husband had written it before leaving for war many years earlier.
He never returned.
The violinist handed her the violin.
Inside was a small inscription:
“For the person who waits.”
The woman began to cry.
From that evening onward, the violinist played the melody only once a year.
And whenever he did, the old woman sat beside the canal.
The music became a quiet remembrance of love that had survived time.
