The Apartment Above Room 9
A struggling musician rents a cheap apartment in an aging city building where every tenant avoids discussing the ninth floor. Each night at precisely 3:09 AM, furniture scrapes across the ceiling above him even though the apartment upstairs is supposedly empty. The musician begins recording the noises and accidentally captures whispers hidden beneath the sound. The recordings contain warnings about murder and disappearances linked to the building. Curious neighbors start acting strangely whenever he asks questions. One night, he secretly enters the forbidden floor and discovers abandoned rooms frozen in time. Family photos remain untouched, dinner tables are still set, and old televisions display static images of tenants who vanished years ago. The deeper he explores, the more the building shifts around him, trapping him inside endless corridors. The story should combine urban horror, supernatural mystery, paranoia, and emotional revelations tied to the protagonist’s own forgotten childhood connection to the building.
